Getting There

Daily flights connect Colombo's Bandaranaike Airport to Jaffna's Palaly Airport in under an hour. Alternatively, the scenic Yal Devi express train from Colombo Fort takes around 6–7 hours through spectacular northern countryside.

Best Time to Visit

The ideal window is between February and July, when the northeast monsoon has passed and skies are clear. The grand Nallur Festival — 25 days of vibrant Hindu ritual — takes place each August and is not to be missed.
