Arrival in Colombo → Habarana

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport. Met by your Ceylon Travel Hub guide and driver. Transfer north to Habarana (approx. 4 hrs) passing through ancient kingdoms. Check in to your jungle lodge and enjoy a welcome dinner under the stars.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress + Minneriya Safari

Rise early for sunrise at Sigiriya — the 5th-century rock citadel rising 200m above the jungle plains. Trek to the summit, explore the ancient frescoes and water gardens. Afternoon jeep safari in Minneriya National Park to witness the famous elephant gathering — up to 300 elephants congregating at the reservoir.

Kandy — White-Water Rafting

Drive south to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. After checking in, head to the Mahaweli River for a thrilling white-water rafting session through class III-IV rapids, surrounded by tropical forest. Kandy → Ella — Scenic Train Journey

Board the legendary Kandy–Ella train — widely regarded as one of the world's most beautiful rail journeys. Wind through misty tea plantations, cloud forests and cascading waterfalls. Arrive in Ella in the afternoon. Check in and explore the charming village.

Ella — Hiking Day

A full day of hiking. Morning: conquer Ella Rock (3–4 hour hike) for panoramic views across the Ella Gap. Afternoon: hike to Little Adam's Peak for sunset views over the valley. Walk across the iconic Nine Arches Bridge — a masterpiece of colonial-era engineering framed by jungle.

Yala National Park — Dawn Safari

Transfer to Yala — Sri Lanka's most famous wildlife park and home to the highest density of leopards in the world. Dawn jeep safari tracking leopards, sloth bears, elephants, crocodiles and hundreds of bird species. Afternoon: optional second safari session. Overnight at a tented eco-camp on the park boundary.

Bentota — Water Sports

Drive west to Bentota's golden beach. Afternoon packed with water sports: jet skiing, banana boat rides, windsurfing and snorkelling in the warm Indian Ocean. Sunset dinner at a beachfront restaurant with fresh seafood and tropical cocktails.

Bentota → Colombo — Departure

Leisurely morning on the beach. Transfer to Colombo for last-minute shopping at Pettah Market or the Dutch Hospital shopping precinct. Transfer to the airport for your international flight home, taking the memories of an incredible adventure with you.

Arrive at Colombo airport and transfer directly south to the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort (approx. 2.5 hrs). Check into your boutique hotel within the Fort walls. Evening walk along the ramparts at sunset with views over the Indian Ocean. Dinner at a heritage restaurant inside the Fort.

Galle Fort Exploration + Stilt Fishermen

Morning guided walk through Galle Fort — Dutch Reformed Church, lighthouse, colonial architecture and vibrant boutique scene. Afternoon: drive along the coast to photograph the iconic stilt fishermen of Koggala and visit a mask carving workshop. Optional: introductory surf lesson at Hikkaduwa beach.

Mirissa — Whale Watching

Rise before dawn for an early morning whale watching boat trip from Mirissa Harbour — the best place on earth for blue whale sightings. Spend 3-4 hours on the open ocean watching blue whales, sperm whales and spinner dolphins. Afternoon: relax on Mirissa's crescent beach or try snorkelling on the coral reef.

Rekawa Turtle Sanctuary + Tangalle

Yala — Dawn & Dusk Safaris

Full day dedicated to Yala National Park. Dawn safari (5am) tracking leopards in the golden morning light — the best time for sightings. Midday: relax at the lodge. Arrival in Colombo → Kalpitiya

Arrive and transfer north along the coast to Kalpitiya — a remote peninsula of white sand and turquoise lagoons on Sri Lanka's northwest coast. Check into your beachfront bungalow. Sunset dolphin-watching boat trip in the Kalpitiya lagoon, famous for large pods of spinner and bottlenose dolphins.

Kalpitiya — Kitesurfing

Kalpitiya is one of the world's top kitesurfing destinations, blessed with flat lagoon water and consistent trade winds. Full day kitesurfing lesson or freestyle session with certified instructors on the calm Kalpitiya lagoon. Non-surfers can try stand-up paddleboarding or sailing in the mangrove channels. Seafood BBQ on the beach at sunset.

Kalpitiya → Ritigala Ruins

Drive inland to the mysterious Ritigala Strict Nature Reserve — a forest-cloaked mountain hiding the ancient ruins of a forest monastery used by Buddhist monks from the 1st century BC. A guided trek through dense jungle uncovers meditation platforms, ancient stone pathways and eerily beautiful ruins that very few travellers ever see.

Minneriya National Park Safari

Morning jeep safari in Minneriya National Park — one of the best places on the planet to witness Asian elephants. During the dry season (June–October), up to 300 elephants gather at the reservoir in what is called "The Gathering". Also spot deer, buffalo, crocodiles and a stunning variety of waterbirds.

Habarana → Knuckles (Day 1 of Trek)

Drive east to the entrance of the Knuckles Mountain Range — a UNESCO World Heritage wilderness of jagged peaks, cloud forest and isolated villages. Begin your 2-day trek with an experienced mountain guide. Camp overnight in a traditional village homestay with a home-cooked meal.

DAY 06
Knuckles (Day 2) → Kandy

Continue the Knuckles trek through bamboo groves, waterfalls and ridgeline viewpoints. Descend to Kandy via a remote village trail. Afternoon: white-water rafting on the Mahaweli River — class III-IV rapids through spectacular gorges. Evening: Temple of the Tooth Relic puja ceremony.

Kandy → Horton Plains (Dawn Hike)

Drive up through mist-shrouded tea estates to Horton Plains National Park at 2,100m altitude. Before dawn, begin the 9km circular hike across this high-altitude plateau to World's End — a sheer cliff dropping 870 metres — for the most dramatic sunrise in Sri Lanka. Return via Baker's Falls, a magnificent jungle waterfall.

Ella — Hike & Train

Continue to the charming highland village of Ella. Afternoon hike to Ella Rock and the Nine Arches Bridge. Optional: take a short scenic train ride between Ella and Demodara station. Evening at leisure — explore Ella's cafes and vibrant traveller scene.

Ella → Bentota Beach
