Sigiriya Rock Fortress + Minneriya Elephant Safari

Morning climb of Sigiriya — the magnificent 5th-century rock citadel rising 200m above the jungle. Kids will love the adventure of climbing the ancient stairways and spotting the colourful frescoes. Afternoon jeep safari in Minneriya National Park to witness the famous elephant gathering, where herds of up to 300 elephants congregate at the reservoir — one of Asia's greatest wildlife spectacles.

Habarana → Kandy — Temple & Cultural Show

Drive south to Kandy, Sri Lanka's cultural capital. Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya — a wonderland of giant bamboo, orchids and colonies of enormous fruit bats that fascinate children. Kandy → Ella — World's Most Beautiful Train Ride

Board the legendary Kandy–Ella scenic train — rated one of the world's most breathtaking railway journeys. Wind through mist-shrouded tea plantations, cascading waterfalls and cloud forests for 6 hours of pure magic. Children can hang out of the open doors for fresh mountain air and spectacular views. Arrive in Ella in the late afternoon. Stroll the charming village and settle in for the night.

Ella — Hike, Nine Arches Bridge & Tea Factory

Drive west to Bentota's magnificent beach on the southwest coast. Visit the Sea Turtle Conservation Centre nearby, where you can learn about Sri Lanka's five species of nesting sea turtles and help with hatchery care.
